Which of these mental scripts do you have when starting a business?

When I tell you to imagine a courtroom, what comes to your mind? Perhaps a judge and two lawyers arguing endlessly over one topic.

Fighting to win.

When it comes to starting something, we tend to do similar things -- arguing and disqualifying ourselves over why it'd never work.

When I opened my laptop on day 1 of starting a business back in 2014, I'd innumerable reasons, aka mental scripts of not doing it.

Some of them are below --

  • "I'm already doing a full-time job, how do I find time?"
  • "I'll figure this out someday later"
  • "I don't know where to start" (Here's the first step to find an online business idea btw)
  • "There is so many people already doing this. How do I stand out?"
  • "I'm not an expert at this. Why would anyone pay me?"
  • "I've too many business ideas. Which one do I pick first?"
  • "I've an idea, but not sure if it's a profitable one"
  • "I don't know coding. I'm not a technical person"
  • "I want to start something of my own, but the biggest problem for me is procrastination. I don't take action"
  • "I don't have a website, domain name, etc."
  • "How do I earn money online"

How about you? What mental scripts do you have? Which ones did I miss out?
